Sims 3 Xbox (Why can't I mess with graves)?

For some reason my game is neither letting me place my grave on my lot (I go to buy/build and it's not clickable) And going to the mausoleum doesn't work cause manage the dead doesn't come up. Ever. I just had one of my active sims die on my active lot, I went to mausoleum to manage graves, but the option wasn't there, even when the sim's lover did it. It did this before on a game with cheats so I tried again on a game without cheats, but it still does it. It's really annoying cause I want a Sims family tree, but since I can't do anything to the graves, the only thing left is for the Sims to go to the netherworld, which deletes them, for some reason, from the family history. Is there any way to fix this problem at all?
